Trivia Bee, Fundraiser for Friends of the Tuolumne County Library. This event enables the Friends of the Library to augment county funds for adult literacy services which include Reading Plus, adult literacy, Worlds of Wonder (bookmobile) and Born to Read, early literacy outreach. We solicit sponsors, provide raffle baskets, teams sign up from assorted businesses around town and they vie for the answers to the questions. This event gets quite lively with the audience cheering on the various teams. Not unlike some of the game shows on TV, it is quite popular. Columbia Pumpkin Lighting, Help light up the streets at Columbia State Historic Park from 5:30 to 8 PM. Bring your carved pumpkin and join your neighbors for a community pumpkin lighting event on the steps of the Columbia Museum. The coronet section of the Great Motherlode Brass and Reed Band will be playing, starting at 5:30 PM. Pumpkin lighting begins at 6 PM and will last about one hour.
